Week 24 - Commitment

For week 24 the theme was Commitment. I made  it simple. A ring, a key and a heart. To me, these are symbols of commitment.

A year in Jewelry - Week 23

I'm going to be playing catch up with my Year in Jewelry Project. I borrowed my husband's camera. I don't know when I will be able to afford to buy another. Week 23's theme was twins, so I made this cute little glass and resin earrings. Just perfect for a fun summer's eve.

You can find week 23 here

A year in Jewelry - Week 22

My camera bit the dust for week 22 so this came off my cell phone camera. Not good quality at all.
Week 22- is Circles, Squares, Triangles

This piece is made of dyed mother-of-pearl and hardware washers. I really like how it came out.

A Year in Jewelry: Week 21- Cuffs for All

Well I'm a week behind on my year of jewelry and quickly coming up on two weeks behind. I am a persistent person so I will catch up. I've been using a lot of my "spare" time writing on my other blog "The Sock Zone" Check it out , you may learn something about me.

So here is week 21 of the year in jewelry "Cuffs for All" This is my very first wire woven cuff. It's got a lot of dings but I like how it turned out. I made it from the tutorial by Nancy Wickman.

Go here to see what was made for this weeks challenge.

Year of Jewelry-Week 7

So far I've been able to keep up with the challenge, but it has been only 7 weeks into it. This weeks theme is "Off the Cuff". I haven't delve into the world of metal, so making a metal cuff was not an option. I decided to try wire into the shape of a cuff and here is my results "Wired Pink". It's made of ribbon wrapped wire shaped into a cuff then wire wrapped glass beads to hold it's shape. I'm thrilled with the results.

I really like this challenge. It has stretched my abilities like no other challenge so far. To see what everyone one else made this week just click on this link Week 7

Bead Soup Party Time #5

Well the 5th Bead Soup Blog Party is here. I was lucky to be one of 200 participants, that were chosen lottery style.   My partner this time around is Jennifer from Kanna Glass Studios

I am so excited about this swap, she sent me a gorgeous bead soup, many of the pieces she made herself.  I hope that she likes what I have sent her. I don't make my own beads at the moment, but I hope to someday be able to give beads that I have created myself. I hope she finds my selection challenging and fun.

A New Challenge

Well 2012 is just around the corner and I've signed up for yet another challenge (it keeps my mind young).

This time I'm joining Beading Daily's bead-along: Earrings everyday for January.
If anyone would like to join me you can find the challenge here http://www.beadingdaily.com/content/Bead-Along.aspx.

So that's 31 pairs of different earrings.  Are you up for a challenge?  Hmm, I think I need to get my ears pierced.
