Bead Soup Blog Hop #5

My beautiful bead soup came from Jennifer Borek of Kanna Glass Studios. Be sure to stop by her blog and see her beautiful creations.
I added some grey and silver seed beads to the seed bead mixture she sent me so that I could blend the focal and clasp that she handmade, in with the copper chain and hammered washers.
The lampwork is just gorgeous, and I have never seen anything like the flowers.
My plan was to make earrings as well, using the earwires she made, but I just was not feeling well to finish those.
This is completely different from anything I've made before and I thank Jennifer for the challenge.

Now that you have seen what I've created, please have fun visiting my fellow participants.

I have joined a blog hop to raise awareness and help support families who deal with rare diseases.
7000 bracelets of hope. Global Genes Project, a rare disease group for children. The bracelets are donated to the mothers and caretakers of these children, as a way to give them a little support and lift their spirits.
This is the bracelet I made for someone special and will be donated.

Bead Soup - My Partner's Challenge

These are the beads I sent my partner, Jennifer Borek, for the bead soup blog hop challenge. Green has always been one of my favorite colors.  I sent her shell and new jade for her to work with. The focal is glass with swirls of copper in it.  I added a copper s clasp and some copper and various glass beads.

7000 Bracelets For Hope

Okay, call me silly, but I love challenges. They keep my creative juices flowing. Nothing is better for clogged creativity like a challenge.

So what's on my challenge menu for this month? Well beside the bead soup blog hop, I have accepted the challenge of creating a bracelet for charity. It's called 7000 Bracelets For Hope.

The Global Genes Project exists to raise awareness and support for the more than 30 million people affected by rare diseases. There are currently over 7,000 rare diseases identified, and 75% of those affected are children.  With the 7000 Bracelets Campaign, the Children's Rare Disease Network gives artists and crafters an opportunity to lovingly share their creative gifts with families who have a child suffering with a rare disease.

I received this gorgeous assortment of handmade beads and handmade focal, earwires and clasp from my partner
 Jennifer Borek   from
Kanna Glass Studios.  I just absolutely  love what she sent me. Since she's in the process of moving, she hasn't been able to picked up her mail yet so I won't reveal what I sent her.

Bead Soup Party Time #5

Well the 5th Bead Soup Blog Party is here. I was lucky to be one of 200 participants, that were chosen lottery style.   My partner this time around is Jennifer from Kanna Glass Studios

I am so excited about this swap, she sent me a gorgeous bead soup, many of the pieces she made herself.  I hope that she likes what I have sent her. I don't make my own beads at the moment, but I hope to someday be able to give beads that I have created myself. I hope she finds my selection challenging and fun.

A New Challenge

Well 2012 is just around the corner and I've signed up for yet another challenge (it keeps my mind young).

This time I'm joining Beading Daily's bead-along: Earrings everyday for January.
If anyone would like to join me you can find the challenge here http://www.beadingdaily.com/content/Bead-Along.aspx.

So that's 31 pairs of different earrings.  Are you up for a challenge?  Hmm, I think I need to get my ears pierced.
